Kuru Disease

Kuru

Kuru is a very rare disease. It is caused by an infectious protein (prion) found in contaminated human brain tissue. This disease is mainly diagnosed in the countries such as New Guinea.

Kuru causes brain and nervous system changes and is caused due to the consumption of dead human brains as a part of their funeral ritual. This disease can only be infected by "eating dead brains" and this disease is now merely dissipated because countries have banned this form of rituals.
